Allison turns 14 | North Louisiana Photographer

My little sister turned 14 and I have no idea how!! Seems like just yesterday we were all waiting anxiously to get to see her after she was born. Wasn’t she just toddling around, learning how to walk?? Time goes by so quickly! I know it can be hard to feel that when you are in the trenches of parenthood, raising those little ones. But truly, before you know it, they are teens. From what I hear, that is a new can of worms. Haha!!

Every year I try to take my little sister out for photos to celebrate another year. She loves her animals so we usually incorporate them as well. Thankfully, my parents live on a beautiful piece of land in North Louisiana that we always do her photos at. This is the same piece of land that I grew up on and it just love it.

Earlier in the year, my sister was kicked in the face by one of their horses. She made a miraculous recovery and didn’t even have a broken bone! We were so thankful!! To me, for her get right back out there with her horses is so brave. I think I would be terrified. But she goes out with grace and loves them all the same.

Lake Bistineau Senior Session | Lemuel Pruitt | Shreveport Louisiana Photographer

High School Grad, Lemuel Pruitt

Lemuel is big into fishing. We knew when we scheduled his session that we wanted to have his portraits somewhere to where we could incorporate his hobbies. That is something that I think is so important with seniors. Adding in elements of what they enjoy doing. Whether it be sports, fishing or hunting for the guys or cheer, photography, painting, flowers, etc for the girls. Adding in elements that are them make their portraits more personal. I’m all about that.

For this session we met at Lake Bistineau in Doyline Louisiana. Y’all know this by now that this is my favorite location for portraits. The park has such a Louisiana feel to it. I love the moss in the trees.

We knew we wanted to get out in the kayak for some of Lemuel’s portraits. After getting the more formal wear out of the way, he changed into his fishing clothed and we headed out for the water. It was so fun to just let him do his thing while I photographed him. It’s kind of hard to do much posing out in the water on a kayak after all. Haha!!

These images are so fun and so Lemuel. So glad we were able to capture him and some of the things he enjoys.

Amy and Sebastiaan Maternity Portraits | Minden Louisiana Photographer

Today we are pulling from the vault for this sweet maternity session.

Amy and Sebastiaan came all the way from Europe for these pictures. Ok, fine, that’s not true. They did come from all the way from Europe, but the photos in Louisiana were not orginally part of the plan. You see, Amy is my husband’s sister. Her and Sebastiaan came down for Thanksgiving and while they were here we grabbed some pictures.

They are having their first baby in Feburary and we all can’t wait to see how beautiful she is going to be. And I know they will be amazing parents. Our girls love them both so much. They are moving on in their travels in the US today so of course I’m posting this because we already miss them and they just left. Boo for long distances.

We planned to get these pictures done in the evening but after realizing it was going to rain from noon until…. well, all night, we realized we had to make do with the morning cloudy skies. Within minutes of us starting, the rain came. Thankfully, it was only a drizzle. But it did not help with the chilly temps. We sped through the photos so as to not freeze from being wet and cold.

But in the end, these pictures turned out so well. Thanks for trusting me to capture this sweet time for y’all. We love y’all so much!

Moriah turns 8 | Shreveport Louisiana Photographer

Sweet Moriah turned 8 and that calls for birthday portraits! We went with downtown Shreveport as our location because her mama wanted more architecture. Moriah wanted a Japan themed party so we made sure to include some of that in her outfit selections.

Moriah is such a sweet, quiet girl. She wouldn’t hurt a soul and she’s friends with everyone. She’s one of those girls that’s easy to love and she loves you right back. She’s more on the reserved side and maybe won’t show her emotions as strongly as others, but she is truly a sweetheart.

We love you sweet Moriah and wish you he happiest birthday party this weekend.

Addie is ONE | Ruston Louisiana Baby Photographer

This absolutely adorable Paris themed cake smash session photographed in North Louisiana is pulled from the archives, but man, oh man is it worth sharing! Seriously, how cute?!!

This sweet girl’s mama knocked it out of the park with the decor and cake for this session. She wasn’t a fan at first, and got a little tired of me at the end, but we got some cute portraits that I know her mama just loved!!

I love getting to watch the adorable babies grow. From newborn to one year and upwards, we love photographing them!!

Christy is so beautiful and just glowing during this pregnancy. I think that’s something that can be said of so many lovely mamas during their pregnancy. Pregnancy is such a beautiful, wonderful thing. Each time I think it such a miracle. The miracle of a life growing inside you. It always makes me think of how amazing God is. You can see Him so clearly and plainly.

We met for this session out in Rural North Louisiana on a beautiful day and had the most wonderful time together. It is such a privilege to be able to document such incredible times for such amazing people. I never take this time for granted.

Sarah’s Branding Portraits | Ruston Louisiana Branding Photographer

My dear friend Sarah from Sarah Ann Photography in East TN and I had the privilege to meet up in Ruston Louisiana for a branding shoot swap. This was seriously so much fun!! We met through instagram and quickly realized we both had very similar interests. We both are photographers with very similar styles. We both love health and fitness. We both enjoy running. We are both Katelyn James fans (IYKYK) AND our birthdays are only days apart. We are basically the same person. Well, she is the more outgoing one while I am the less outgoing one. Haha! But nevertheless, we knew we had to meet in real life.

She came to Louisiana for meeting our church was having and we officially were able to meet each other. Then she came back to photograph a wedding that I was able to second shoot for her and we squeezed this branding shoot in. Funny enough, a few weeks later we went to VA and made a pit stop in TN to say hi. She is such a genuine person and friend that I am so thankful I was able to meet. It amazes me how God can bring people into your life seemingly so randomly, yet it’s like you have known each other your entire life. Sarah is this way. We haven’t really known each other very long but I tell you, you wouldn’t know it.

For this branding session we met up at Railway coffee in Ruston Louisiana. This was my first time to visit and little did I know it is owned by John Luke Robertson from Duck Dynasty. What is even crazier is that he came there while we were there. WHAAT?!?! I’m not too head over heels for famous people, but it was kind of cool!

After the coffee shop we went to a beautiful home in Ruston and sweated like crazy to get these beautiful outdoor images. It was worth it though!

We had the best time together and I can’t wait to do something like this again!

Emma’s Birthday Portraits + Elaine | Minden Louisiana Photographer

My sweet Emma turned 4 at the beginning of October. A few weeks before her birthday we took some time to document her being 4. Birthday portraits is something that I always make sure I take the time to get. Seeing my girls grow and change each year is sad, but I’m always so glad I took the photos. I love seeing how their personality blossoms and changes from year to year.

Emma is such a goofy girl at home and around people she is very comfortable with. In public she is very shy. One day she will break out of her shell in public and we will wish she was shy again. Haha!! She is so much fun and keeps us laughing. Sometimes she will say or do something and we will think “where on earth did you get that from?!” Her favorite store is Walmart and has been since she could talk. No idea why. But she loves it. HA!! McDonald’s is her favorite place to eat. Typical kid, right?

Emma loves our dogs Luna and Sandy. She gives them hugs all the time and sometimes she will just go outside by herself and play with them. They love her too. I’m sure it helps that she sneaks them treats. Stinker head.

Emma is pure joy and we love her so very much!

The beautiful Katie graced my lens I tell you, I can’t wait for you to see these.

Not only is Katie gorgeous but she is the sweetest little thing. She’s always wearing a smile.

We decided to do her session out on Lake Bistineau, because who doesn’t LOVE Lake Bistineau?! I know I love it. It is gorgeous at every seaon.

Katie is amazing with hair, and HAS amazing hair too! She has an instagram account where she shares hair tutorials so we knew we wanted to get some up close images of her hair. We came in with a plan and I would say we got some amazing images that I just love.

Typically I am a family and newborn photographer but I just love the change of scenery every now and then by doing a portrait session. They are so fun and I love the personality I get to capture one-on-one.

Kinlee is 6 months | Minden Louisiana Photographer

Oh sweet Kinlee, how are you six months?? Well, actually at this point she’s close to eight months because someone forgot to blog her session. I won’t name any names. haha
Ok, yes, it was me. I forgot all about this sweet session. My own niece. Wow.

Kinlee has been such a joy in our family. All the kids just love her to pieces. Her sweet smiles, those beautiful eyes. We just love you Kinlee Boo.

We did her little milestone session out on my parents land in Shongaloo, Louisiana. Just as the knockout roses were blooming and the summer sun was not yet in it;s full strength. Techinicallly it wasn’t summer yet but it was still nice and warm. We were all nice and sweaty by the time we were finished. But that’s just part of being a photographer
in Louisiana. I always tell my clients that I’m glad I’m not the one in front of the camera. HA! I always look a mess when I’m finished.

Kinlee did so good for her little session and even gave off some sweet smiles. We love you sweet Kinlee girl.
