Griffiths Family | Ruston Louisiana Photographer

Here is another sweet family from our time in Virginia. I had the most wonderful time with each of these families. It just made my whole week to be able to come preserve these special memories for these sweet, sweet people.

This is is the Griffiths family. They were absolute champs. We came thinking we were going to get a break from the Louisiana heat. While it was in some way, better than Louisiana, it was still HOT!! We had to work these photos in in the mid-day sun. That is less than ideal but when you are only in town for a short while, you have to make do with whatever options are available. Not always will you be able to get the ideal lighting.

We spent some time in the sun to get the gorgeous view at our airbnb but we quickly realized it was just too hot; to the shade we went.

It was so nice to have this location right outside of our airbnb for this family’s session. It is absolutely stunning!!

I loved all the fun moments I was able to capture for the Griffiths family. Everyone did so well, and I think we all had fun!

The Diaz family

These are some of our dearest friends. They showed us so much hospitality while we were in Virginia. It was the greatest honor to be able to photograph their family. We just love them so much.

We met the day we arrived in Virginia and went to a stunning location with a gorgeous Mountain view. I can’t get over being able to photograph sessions in the mountains. It is so much more beautiful than what we have to offer in Louisiana. Am I right? I think I’m right.

This was such a fun session and I loved letting the kiddos let their personalities shine. We all had so much fun!

Emily | Senior Photogapher in North Louisiana

Lovely Emma

I had the honor to photograph several families and this sweet senior while in Virginia at the beginning of September. We went for a little time away and it was so fun to be able to work with new surroundings. It’s not every day this Louisiana girl gets to photograph highlands cows or mountains.

Speaking of Highland cows, this session featured a few of those and that was pretty interesting. Haha!! Animals are unpredictable, of course. You can never really tell what you’re going to get out of them. We did pretty good with them tough, I will say. I know Emma is a big fan of highland cows so to be able to include them in her senior session made her day.

Brick Street Coffee | Minden Louisiana Photogapher

A few weeks ago I had the incredible privilege to document the “meet and greet” grand opening of Minden’s new coffee shop- Brick Street Coffee.

They brought in some amazing influencers like Simply Southern Cottage, Hammon’s Nest, Becky Cunningham Home, and more. They served them like royalty and then opened the doors for the public. Minden, y’all showed up!! There were so many that come out to show their support. It was absolutely amazing!!

Since then, they have fully opened their doors and they have been nothing short of blessed with amazing support ever since. They do such an amazing job that makes you want to come back again and again.

If you do not follow them over at brick street coffee on instagram or barnyard coffee ( their online roasting business) then maybe you don’t know all the details. They bought an old hardware store in downtown Minden, LA and completely revamped it into an absolutely stunning coffee shop. They did so amazing! Everyone who comes in is just blown away by the beauty.

It was such an honor to be able to do this for them and it is such a joy to have this new coffee shop so close to home.

Emily | Minden Louisiana Lifestyle Newborn Session

Baby Emily: the cutest little thing you ever did see. Maybe I am a bit partial since she is me niece. She’s only a few weeks old but it feels like she’s always been here. She is so loved by all her cousins and sisters.

We did things a little bit different then I normally do with newborn sessions. Instead of a morning session we did an afternoon session. She was born 5 weeks early and we did her session at 10 days so she was still I the very sleepy all day stage. This is always what we want. I always try to schedule newborn sessions right around 10 days post. This gives mom and dad a few days to settle in and baby is still young enough to be sleepy for me.

Emily’s session was done in a dark room that had very little natural light. I used my off camera flash and just love the way these turned out. Off camera flash is so fun to me! Taking artificial light and creating natural looking light with it feels like a puzzle sometimes but it is so fun when you get it right.

I loved everything about this in home newborn session in Minden, Louisiana. I hope you enjoy seeing it.

Shekinah’s Newborn Session | Newborn Photographer in Ruston Louisiana

The sweetest in home newborn session outside of Ruston Louisiana. I loved every second of this session. These two baby girls are under two years old, obviously the newborn is haha!! This can change the dynamic of an in-home newborn session simply because you have to keep the toddlers happy and go with the flow of what they are willing to do. I never, ever stress anything for toddlers because the last thing I want is for them to have a meltdown. I make it a point to let them be the boss and I just follow their direction.

Little Selah was so silly and loved taking a look at my camera and all the lighting equipment I had. She thought it was the best to tell her mama and daddy to say cheese while she cheesed as hard as she could behind the camera. It is always so fun to interact with little ones to get them to trust me so that when I ask them to do things, they are more willing. It’s also more likely that I will be able to get their personality to shine.

Shekinah was an angel for her session. She did so good. Dream baby!! I could photograph in home newborn sessions all day every day and never tire of it. I love it that much.

Neevan’s First Birthday | Shreveport Louisiana Baby Photographer

Sweet Neevan turns ONE!! This horse derby themed birthday party in Shreveport was seriously so cute!! Neevan was such a happy boy for his big day too. It can be hard for little ones with so many people looking at them constantly but he was a champ!

All the details within this party were thought out so carefully and looked so wonderful. Great job, mama!!

It was a hot day in Shreveport, Louisiana but it was worth it to get a little ride on the horses in the backyard. All the kids loved that! It is so fun to see the different activities that mamas come up with for these sweet baby’s first birthday parties. I just love getting to document all these special moments of motherhood!!

Happy first birthday Neevan. You are such a precious baby boy.

NOW is the time to start booking your fall family sessions!

I know it’s still summer and 100 degrees outside *quite literally* but the sooner you book the more likely you’ll get on our calendar. Spots will fill up FAST!!!

Fall sessions can be booked for dates between September 12- December 9th.

Abshire Family | North Louisiana Photographer

The Abshire family. Oh how I love to photograph them. The sweetest little boys you ever did see.

Two years ago I met the Abshires at their home for a sweet family session that ended with going out to Dr. Abshire’s flags. If you’re from Homer, Louisiana then you probably know about the Abshire’s flags. It’s a beautiful sight.

I was thrilled when Micah reached out to have me come and photograph them in the flags again. I can’t tell you how wonderful it is to have clients that come back year after year for more portraits. It thrills my heart and is truly the greatest compliment.

We knew it would be a hot one so we decided to get up with the sunrise and do our session first thing in the morning. I have only done a handful of early morning sessions and let me tell you, this one here made me fall in love with the early morning light. It is so soft and gorgeous,

We certainly weren’t able to beat the heat, but in all reality, it would have been far worse in the evening. So I guess we did beat the heat. Ha! It was still an incredibly muggy morning. If you know how summer mornings are in Louisiana then you know what I mean.

I was struggling with my lens fogging up but man, some of the images where my lens fogged up were so fun!

I love this family and I love how easy they are to photograph. It is such a joy to work with you and your family, Micah!

Conroy Maternity | Minden Louisiana Maternity Photographer

My sister is having her fourth little girl so we’re adding to the girl tribe on my side of the family. All the grand babies are girls. Talk about loud when they all get together. It is so fun for them, though!

Jessica is having her baby in September so that put her maternity session right in the middle of summer. Here in North Louisiana, summer is HOT!! Mix heat and humidity with being pregnant and its not the best combo. I didn’t want to have her out in the heat for long so we opted to do most of the portraits in her home. I set up my off camera flash and we got to work.

After the indoor portion we went to downtown Minden and found a beautiful crepe myrtle tree to get a few outdoor images. This is the way to go when it’s as hot as it has been!

I love these images so much and can’t wait to add this sweet little bundle of joy to our family. It won’t be much longer until we are photographing this sweet brand new baby.
