5 ways to help a new mom | Ruston Louisiana Baby Photographer

Have you ever wondered how you can help a new mom out? As a family and newborn photographer in north Louisiana, I’ve got FIVE tips for you!

    Ruston Louisiana baby photographer
    1. Bring her a meal to feed her family! Not having to worry about meals is a huge relief.
    2. Pick up her groceries so she doesn’t have to worry about lugging all the kids to the store
    3. Take a load off of her by watching her kids so she can get an uninterrupted nap, or even just a shower! She’ll thank you for sure!
    4. Come by and do some quick cleaning for her- vacuum, mop, laundry, etc.
    5. Just be there for moral support. Avoid comments like breast is best or comments about her body and/or how tired she looks. Rather, let her know how great of a job she is doing. The newborn stage is overwhelming and exhausting. The last thing she needs is someone telling her she’s doing it all wrong.

Our family photos by Angela Lloyd Photography | South Arkansas Photographer

We had the incredible privelege of being able to swap family photos with Angela Lloyd. An amazing photographer based out of South Arkansas. She is the sweetest person you’ll ever meet and we loved every second of our time together.

We met out on her family’s land in Lewisville Arkansas where she started photographing our family. Once we were finished we swapped out and I photographed her family. You can see those here.

She was so wonderful with our kids and even mananaged some smiles out of Emma. Which, if you know her, you know that is a feat. She is as goofy as they come at home, but once we are in public she is so shy. We were afraid we wouldn’t get any smiles out of her, but Angela worked her magic and right at the end (when we finaly got to be close-ish to the cows) she warmed up and let her get some great photos that I wil cherish forever.

Thank you again, Angela, for these amazing images of us. I love them so much!!

Kinlee is 6 months | Minden Louisiana Photographer

Oh sweet Kinlee, how are you six months?? Well, actually at this point she’s close to eight months because someone forgot to blog her session. I won’t name any names. haha
Ok, yes, it was me. I forgot all about this sweet session. My own niece. Wow.

Kinlee has been such a joy in our family. All the kids just love her to pieces. Her sweet smiles, those beautiful eyes. We just love you Kinlee Boo.

We did her little milestone session out on my parents land in Shongaloo, Louisiana. Just as the knockout roses were blooming and the summer sun was not yet in it;s full strength. Techinicallly it wasn’t summer yet but it was still nice and warm. We were all nice and sweaty by the time we were finished. But that’s just part of being a photographer
in Louisiana. I always tell my clients that I’m glad I’m not the one in front of the camera. HA! I always look a mess when I’m finished.

Kinlee did so good for her little session and even gave off some sweet smiles. We love you sweet Kinlee girl.

The Williams Wedding | Carriage House at Big Oak Hill Ranch

April 30th I had the incredible priviledge of helping Misty Swilley Photography by being a second shooter for the Williams wedding at the Carriage House at Big Oak Hill Ranch. It was an honor to assist in capturing such a lovely day! The florals were arranged by Brianna Belton Design. She did an outstanding job! Everything was so gorgerous and I just loved the venue. All the white shiplap, brick elements, the windows, the pond. It was all beautiful.

Our day started around 2:30. Here we began photographing detials, getting ready images, bride and bridesmaids as well as the groom and groomsmen. This was my first time to work with Misty and, actually, my first time to meet her. She is the sweetest soul you’ll meet.

The day started out nice and hot with the chance of rain just as the ceremony would be starting. We lucked out and all we had was clouds covering the sun and a really nice breeze. It made the outdoor ceremony so nice!

You never know what events may take place on a wedding day that could cause stress, but I would say this wedding day flowed together seemlessly with a great team of vendors.

The bride and groom were surrounded by their friends and family as they celebrated such a momentous time in their lives. They couldn’t have asked for a better day. I pray all the happines in the world for them.

    Xoxo,

    Courtney

  • Lloyd Family | South Arkansas Family Photographer

Lloyd Family | South Arkansas Family Photographer

    Meet the Lloyd family..

Angela is an incredible photographer in the South Arkansas area. Our oaths recently crossed and we decided to do a family photos swap. Being a photographer doesn’t always mean you have great photos of you and your family. Someitmes, as a photographer your own family photos get put on the back burner while we focus on our clients families. So this was an opportinty that I couldn’t turn down. Not to mention, angela is such a wonderful photographer!!

We met on her family’s farm in rural Lewisvile Arkansas on a warm May evening. We had lovely fields, ponds, cows, horses, barns, and silos all around us. What better location could you ask for?

Angela wanted to capture photos of her family before her kids leave home. They are all grown now. We are in the exact opposite stages of life. Her children grown and leaving the nest, and mine just barely in school.. yet beautiful photos are still so important no matter the ages of your children.

It was such an honor to meet y’all and play a role in documenting your beautiful family in a beautiful location such as this. I know I’ll cherish our photos for a lifetime and I hope you will too.

    Xoxo,

    Courtney

Abigail Elise | In-Home Newborn Photographer In Louisiana

ok, y’all. This in-home newborn session in Haughton Louisiana was something worht taalking about. You see, this sweet baby girl is a miracle. I know, all babies are miracles. And I completely agree. However, this one is more than your average mircle.

Andrew and Candace were married the October before we were married. They’ve been married for over eight years and have struggled with infertility. They have prayed and believed for a baby.

There was a young girl in our church that was diagnosed with Alopecia. This is an auto-immune disease that takes all your hair. She was bald but faith struck her heart. She went through a prayer line with bobby pins in her hands and said ” want to wear these.’ After much prayer and faith, her hair began to grow back and today she has a beautoful head of curly black hair and IS wearing those bobby pins.

Why am I telling you this? Because this testimony struck Candace’s heart and she, in faith, began buying baby items. Because she was going to use them one day. After years of standing in faith for a baby, here they are, with their gorgeous baby girl.

This was such a special session to be able to capture. I always love newborn sessions, but when it’s a baby that you have prayed and believed for, it makes it so much more special.

I arrived at their home in Haughton, Louisiana to photograph them in the comfort of their home. Little Abigial was a little older because of sickness that hit my family, but she still was wonderful! She didn’t want to sleep, but we were able to get some of the best awake images of a sweet baby that I have ever gotten. I can’t complain.

I am so excited to share these with you and I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

  • Three things to know before planning your in-home newborn session | North Louisiana Newborn Photographer

Three things to know before planning your in-home newborn session | North Louisiana Newborn Photographer

As a family and lifestyle newborn photographer in North Louisiana, I’ve learned a few things that I’d like to share with you as you being planning your in-home newborn session.

    Minden Louisiana newborn photographer

This is such an incredible exciting time for you and your spouse. Bringing a little life into the world. It is one of the best and most incredible experiences. You want to document this precious time because, truly, it goes so fast.

I want to share a few things to help you prepare:

    North Louisiana newborn photographer

    1. Don’t stress about what your home looks like. If you don’t have a chance to clean up before I come, don’t worry! I know just how hard it can be to clean and care for this new life. If anything is in the way, I will move it. I’ve never come into a home that I couldn’t work with.

    North Louisiana photographer

    2. It’s ok if your baby is awake during the session. We can’t predict exactly how baby will be for his/her session. Some babies sleep the whole time, some are fully awake, some cry. I do my best to help them be comfortable and I practice a lot of patience while they get sleepy but sometimes they just don’t want to sleep. And that’s ok. I let baby lead the way. I never try to force anything on them.

    Louisiana newborn photographer

    3. If your home doesn’t have incredible natural light, that’s ok! I always bring a flash with me and I’m always able to make the lighting situation work.

I hope this is helpful as you being planning your in-home newborn session. I am so thrilled for your little family! I pray all the blessings God can bring for you as you begin this incredible journey of motherhood.
