William | A Birthday Photo Session in Minden Louisiana

Celebrating William’s 13th Birthday with a Photo Session at the Minden Library 🎉📚

Turning 13 is a big deal — it’s that special moment when a kid officially steps into the exciting world of teenage-hood. To celebrate this milestone, we headed to the beautiful brick steps outside the Minden Library in Minden, Louisiana, for a relaxed and fun birthday photo session for William.

The setting couldn’t have been more perfect. With the soft evening light streaming through the trees, the peaceful ambiance of the library grounds, and festive holiday twinkle lights wrapped around the trees in the background, the whole scene had a warm and timeless charm.

William showed up ready for the moment — sporting a classic leather jacket, jeans, and sneakers — a look that’s effortlessly cool and totally his style. He brought such an easygoing vibe to the session, and you could tell he was right at home in front of the camera (even if he might not admit it!).

What made this shoot extra special was capturing the transition in William — still holding onto a bit of boyhood but clearly stepping into his own as a young man. His confidence, quiet strength, and calm demeanor came through in every shot. No props needed — just a great smile, a classic location, and a moment to mark this exciting new chapter in his life.

We chose the Minden Library not just for its beautiful architecture, but because it’s a place of learning and growth — which felt like the perfect metaphor for this stage in William’s journey. Thirteen is a year full of changes, big dreams, and new beginnings, and we were honored to help freeze a few of those moments in time.

  • Love in the Wild: Jenny & Reagan’s Rustic Country Session at the Red River Wildlife Refuge

Love in the Wild: Jenny & Reagan’s Rustic Country Session at the Red River Wildlife Refuge

There’s something undeniably timeless about country love — the kind that feels rooted in tradition, full of laughter, and built on genuine connection. That’s exactly what we captured during Jenny and Reagan’s couple’s session at the beautiful Red River National Wildlife Refuge in Shreveport, Louisiana.
Nestled among the wildflowers, overgrown fences, and golden evening light, Jenny and Reagan showed up in true Southern style — cowboy hats, big belt buckles, boots, and all. Their outfits perfectly matched the backdrop: rugged, natural, and full of personality. The setting sun filtering through the trees created a dreamy glow that felt like something out of a country love song.
What made this session so special was how natural everything felt. Jenny and Reagan have that easy, comfortable chemistry that doesn’t need posing — just a glance or a grin says it all. Whether they were leaning on an old wooden fence or laughing together in the tall grass, every moment was real, warm, and full of joy.
The Red River Wildlife Refuge gave us the perfect rustic setting — open fields, wild greenery, and just the right touch of that Louisiana backroad charm. It was the kind of place where boots feel at home, where the breeze whispers through the trees, and where love stories like theirs are right at home.
Jenny and Reagan’s shoot reminded us that love doesn’t need to be dressed up or overdone. Sometimes, the best stories are told under a wide-open sky, with muddy boots and hearts full of country pride.
Here’s to Southern love, wild places, and the couples who make it all look effortless. 💛

Winters Pregnancy Announcement | North Louisiana Maternity Photographer

Some sessions are more than just photographs — they’re memories wrapped in joy, new beginnings, and the tiniest little heartbeat. This North Louisiana photo session was one of those unforgettable moments as the Winters family celebrated the exciting news of a new baby on the way!

Against a glowing autumn backdrop, this adorable family of three (soon to be four!) radiated warmth, love, and pure happiness. The golden fields and softly setting sun provided the perfect canvas for this joyful chapter in their story.

Big Sister Energy & Even Bigger News

The star of the show? Their sweet little girl proudly rocking a Big Sister sweater and the *biggest* smile you’ve ever seen — with ultrasound photos in hand and excitement all over her face. Her joy was infectious, and she lit up every frame with her giggles and twirls.

Mom and dad stood close, soaking in the moment with quiet smiles and glowing faces. It’s clear that this baby is already so loved.

    Session Details We Loved

👧 The Big Sister Reveal: Her sweater said it all — and paired with the printed sonogram, it made the perfect visual announcement.
💞 Genuine Connection: The family’s bond was effortless and emotional, with laughter, snuggles, and real expressions of love.
🍂 Golden Hour Perfection: As the sun dipped low over the fields, it cast a soft, dreamy light that made the whole session feel like a storybook.
📍North Louisiana Charm: With tall grass, warm tones, and a peaceful setting, this location offered both natural beauty and heartfelt simplicity.

    Why Announcement Sessions Matter

Bringing a new life into the world is one of the most special things a family can experience — and documenting that announcement allows you to savor the joy, the anticipation, and the love that surrounds a growing family.

Whether it’s your first baby or your fourth, these are the kinds of milestones worth preserving and celebrating. They become part of your legacy — the photos your children will treasure one day.

Expecting Something Special? Let’s Announce It in Style.

    Rico | Lake Bistineau Photographer

The sweet Rico kids. I’ve been photographing them for a few years now and each time they are just so much fun. Full of life and energy. I love it!

We met at Lake Bistineau on a beautiful fall day. The kiddos were out of school on break so we were able to do a weekday. It can be hard when kids are in school, especially in the fall, because we have to start our session so early. Time change is a fun one. It’s hard to know what I prefer as far as time changes. Starting sessions earlier in the day means I have to find someone to watch my kiddos, but then I still have time to spend with them before bed after I get back home. Summer sessions can start so much later so hubs can watch the kids for me, but the session is close to bed time for all kids involved. It’s a toss up!

Regardless, these kiddos were so much fun to work with. They gave me plenty of idea and I let them lead the way. I’m photographing kids I find it’s really important to let them do the leading. If I try and force anything on then, odds are they will not want to do it! We all know how kids work, right?! Haha!!

We picked lots of flowers, danced like a princess, waved out our imaginary fans from the “stage” (haha!!), and fought imaginary battles with sticks. I love kids. They are just the best!

Our Family Portraits | North Louisiana Family Photographer

On a whim, like most things I do, I decided it was the perfect day to do our family photos. I knew the location I wanted to do them at so I quickly got our outfits together and we all got ready to leave. I always do self portraits for our own family sessions and although it can be stressful, I like that I can just randomly decide when and where and make it happen. Then if it doesn’t happen we just try again another time. But it almost always works well.

This time we parked on the side of the road about 15 minutes from our home in north Louisiana and we hoped out of the car. I started but getting pictures of David and the girls and then moved to letting Elaine get some photos of me and David. David then got pictures of me and the girls. Then we moved to the tripod set up with the timer. This was fun being on the side of the road where people driving by could see us all randomly smiling at the camera on the side of the road. Haha!!! We laughed and laughed about that one. It was actually lots of fun!

These are definitely some of my favorites that I have taken of us and this location is high up on my list of favorites ever! The lighting is pretty tricky though and timing is everything! But I am so glad we got these done here and I have since done another session there that I love just as much.

David Turns ONE | Baby Photographer in Shreveport Louisiana

Sweet David is turning ONE!! I can’t believe it! Seems like just yesterday I was in his home in North Louisiana photographing his newborn session and here we are documenting his first birthday. Time goes by so quickly!!

As a baby photographer in Shreveport Louisiana it brings me so much joy to be able to photograph such important milestones for my families. Documenting their maternity sessions, capturing their first family photos during their newborn sessions, and on to celebrating their baby turning one. It is so special to me and I love it so much!!

David was so cute for birthday session. It took him a minute to warm up to me and my big camera but once he did, he was so fun to photograph. I loved all the props mom brought for his session! We had the best time doing these photos! I loved getting to chat and catch up with his sweet mama and daddy.

It was the perfect day at the Red River Wildlife Refuge in Shreveport, Louisiana. This is always a favorite location of mine! We have lots of variety and I’m a sucker for big, pretty trees!!

    Happy birthday David!!

It is so special to be asked by another photographer to photograph them. I just loved getting to meet Jennifer! She is the sweetest and so talented herself.

We met at Red River Wildlife Refuge in Shreveport Louisiana for her updated headshots. This is a location that I love so much in the shreveport area. It has so much variety and if you are lucky with your timing like we were, you get to take advantage of how much they like to provide things for the pollinators. AKA FLOWERS!! I love photographing my clients in a field of flowers. It makes me sooo happy!!

Jennifer was a dream to photograph, so easy going and fun. I loved every second of it and I am so thrilled with these images. The colors, the warm light, ALL OF IT!! I just love it all!!

Breeden Family | Royal Grace Fields | North Louisiana Photographer

For the past three years we have taken a family vacation to Virginia. As a photographer in the North Louisiana area, getting to travel and photograph in areas with stunning landscapes brings a whole new sense of enjoyment for what I do. We have come to know some of the sweetest families during these trips and are so thankful for each one.

This precious family is the Breeden family. They have a stunning property where they board race horses and care for them. Is this not every little girl’s dream? I know it is my little Emma’s dream.

We had the most beautiful weather for this session and the prettiest sunlight. As a natural light photographer, chasing the sunlight is kind of what we do. Haha! This was such a great spot to do just that.

We had such good time working together that we continued well after the sun went down. Everything was such a dream and I just adore these images!

Jesse Turns ONE | North Louisiana Baby Photographer

Sweet little Jesse had his first birthday. He is one farm loving boy! We were able to get a few family photos and then we put him near the family tractor and he was the happiest little guy you ever did see. Seriously, it was the cutest thing. Jesse and his family live on a farm in North Louisiana and this is where we did his photos. They have cows, pigs, horses, a couple of dogs and a cat. The true farm loving boy’s dream!

I love getting to photograph babies for their first birthday. It’s so fun! You never know how they are going to feel about photos but it always feels like the greatest success when they warm up to you and you get some genuine smiles!!

    Happiest birthday sweet Jesse!!

  • Pennsylvania Trip Pt 1 | North Louisiana Photographer

Early June David and I took a trip to Pennsylvania to celebrate our 10 year wedding anniversary. Technically, he had to be there for work and I tagged along but we went a few days early and stayed a few days later so that we could make a little vacation out of it. Our first stop was Lancaster, PA.

This part of our trip started off a bit rough with the airbnb booked being in a really rough part of town. What I did not realize is that Lancaster and Lancaster County are actually two totally different places. Lancaster is a big city and Lancaster county is smaller towns inside the county that make up Lancaster count and it is all Amish farmland. Or at least, mostly Amish farmland. There are shops and Sight and Sound Theaters and whatnot.

We quickly cancelled our airbnb. Tried to get a refund due to feeling very unsafe staying there, but the owner would not allow any amount of a refund. After going back and forth we decided to reach out to airbnb and they are giving us a partial refund. Hey, better than nothing!

Ok. So now we cancelled that airbnb, now what??

We planned this portion of the trip with some friends who were driving up from VA. They quickly booked an alternative airbnb IN LANCASTER COUNTY (haha!!) and we stayed there. It was soooo nice and peaceful.

For this portion of our trip we did Sight and Sound Theaters, Agape coffee shop and restaurant, we ate at a few Amish restaurants, went to Kitchen Kettle Village, a really good ice cream shop that I don’t even know the name of, and went to Main Street Skirt Exchange. We saw more horse and buggies than we have ever seen (which was previously zero because we DO NOT live near amish country) and more beautiful farm land than I could capture. Word of warning, don’t drive through farm land with your windows rolled down. Haha!!

Thursday afternoon we all split ways. David and I drove to northern PA and our friends went back home to VA. More to come soon!North Louisiana photographer
