This little cutie babe graduated her milestone sessions with CDP and it’s a happy/sad day. She’s a little miracle and it has been the greatest joy to document her life.
Abigail is the sweetest baby girl and lights up a room with her sweet, sweet smile. You can’t be around her without smiling with her.
We met at Louisiana Tech University because of their tulip garden. When we arrived the tulips were already gone. NOOO!! However, there were other flowers so we made it work. It was such a beautiful day with perfect weather. We couldn’t have asked for a better day.
I loved every second of this first birthday session and I can’t wait to continue to watch Little Abigail grow and blossom into whatever God has in store for her precious life.
We live out in the country in North Louisiana on 10 acres of land. We have a large open field and each year in the fall and the spring, we have wildflowers growing in the field. It is a photographers dream. I always try to make it a point to photograph my girls in the annuals wildflowers we have. Typically in the spring it is the Wisteria. However, this year was weird. Everything bloomed nearly a month early (some things were a whole month early) which lead to a frost killing them before I could photograph them. Hence the reason I do not have Wisteria portraits this year. WAHHHHH
Instead, we have yellow wildflowers. Hey, they are cute too.
My girls were outside playing. I ran inside, grabbed my camera (with only minutes of light left) and captured these seasonal flowers with them. Was is the best lighting? No. Were they in cute clothing? No. But I will cherish these forever. I love my sweet girls.
Possibly the best set of photos
Thank you so much for being here! If you’re interested in a session with us, please stop by here
This session has been talked about between Mariah and myself for a while now. We hoped fro maternity portraits when she was expecting this precious baby, we talked about portraits after he was born. Neither of those worked out with our schedules. They live in Virginia and I live in Louisiana so it isn’t just moving something from one weekend to the next. When they came to Louisiana this past time we knew we had to make it work. My calendar was open so we snuck in this session and even with location change and time changes, we made it happen. I couldn’t be more pleased and in love with these images. Sweet Malachi was such a little smiler. I love his precious dimples.
I love being able to capture these precious times with families. Preserving forever these moments with their littles. They grow so very fast. I’m so thankful for each and every single family I get to document.
As a photographer in the Shreveport Louisiana area, I have taken my fair share of portraits. I get to capture moments and memories for growing families that could be so easily forgotten if it weren’t for the photographs to remember the details.
I not only find value in taking portraits for others, I also realize the value to be IN the photos too.
You see, as a mom, we are always the ones taking the photos. We have cute photos of the kiddos and dad but so few of us with them. Or even more so few of just us and the hubs. Why? Well, who’s going to take it??? Or maybe we don’t like the way our bodies look after having kids. Maybe we just don’t even think about it.
The beautiful thing about family photography is that you don’t even have to think about it! I will direct every single moment of your session.
But why is it so important to actually be in photos?
Well, let’s think about when you were growing up. Do you remember what your parents looked like when you were 3? I sure don’t. But I can look back at the countless images my mom has taken and printed and I can see what they looked like.
I can see moments of them with me on my birthdays, helping me put together my new toys. I can see the joy on my face in one photo where my dad is helping me with a fishing pole.
It is so important for our children to have a legacy to look back on and see these special times in their lives that maybe they wouldn’t remember if it hadn’t been documented. But what’s even more special is that if in those same photos they can see mom and dad, loving them and loving each other.
Today we are pulling from the vault for this sweet maternity session.
Amy and Sebastiaan came all the way from Europe for these pictures. Ok, fine, that’s not true. They did come from all the way from Europe, but the photos in Louisiana were not orginally part of the plan. You see, Amy is my husband’s sister. Her and Sebastiaan came down for Thanksgiving and while they were here we grabbed some pictures.
They are having their first baby in Feburary and we all can’t wait to see how beautiful she is going to be. And I know they will be amazing parents. Our girls love them both so much. They are moving on in their travels in the US today so of course I’m posting this because we already miss them and they just left. Boo for long distances.
We planned to get these pictures done in the evening but after realizing it was going to rain from noon until…. well, all night, we realized we had to make do with the morning cloudy skies. Within minutes of us starting, the rain came. Thankfully, it was only a drizzle. But it did not help with the chilly temps. We sped through the photos so as to not freeze from being wet and cold.
But in the end, these pictures turned out so well. Thanks for trusting me to capture this sweet time for y’all. We love y’all so much!

The Oglesby family is such a special family! You can’t help but love them. They are so fun and full of life! You are sure to leave with a smile on your face after a visit with them. Not only that, but they are Godly. The love of Christ truly shines through their lives. It is a joy and honor to know them and call them friends.
We met for their session out on Lake Bistineau. This is definitely one of my favorite locations. It is so beautiful and gives you all the southern Louisiana feels. The moss in the trees add such beautiful touch to the images as well. I just love it!
This was a mini session so we worked fast but I am so proud of all that we got accomplished in such a short amount of time. I love them all and I know they do too!
Beautiful Christy expecting her first baby. This session is pulled from the archives.
Christy is so beautiful and just glowing during this pregnancy. I think that’s something that can be said of so many lovely mamas during their pregnancy. Pregnancy is such a beautiful, wonderful thing. Each time I think it such a miracle. The miracle of a life growing inside you. It always makes me think of how amazing God is. You can see Him so clearly and plainly.
We met for this session out in Rural North Louisiana on a beautiful day and had the most wonderful time together. It is such a privilege to be able to document such incredible times for such amazing people. I never take this time for granted.
It’s no secret, little ones don’t always just love to be in front of the camera. I get it. It can be scary to have someone you don’t know all up in your personal space. But as a family photographer in the shreveport Louisiana area, I have worked with numerous little ones and almost always end up with a smile.
What is the secret? Let me tell you!
It can be very difficult to get a little one to be still, look at the camera and smile. In fact, it can be hard for adults to do that. Sitting still for long periods of time and smiling is boring!
Instead of asking that of kiddos, and really anyone, I like to encourage play. Playing is what kids do best. I don’t push them to do anything they don’t want to do. During your session, they are the boss. The best advice I have is to let go of the correcting for the photos and just let them be. Let them play.
If you’re worried I won’t get a portrait of all of you looking at the camera and smiling, don’t worry! I always do. But we make it quick and then we play. We explore. We do things that are interring to the little ones.
So if you’re worried, don’t be! We will have a great time together and get wonderful images!
This precious, beautiful lifestyle newborn session is a personal favorite. Oh, how I love photographing newborns. It is truly my favorite thing ever. They are just so precious and snuggly. It never gets old.
This sweet session is from the archives. We met at their home in North Louisiana on a beautiful day to photograph this precious time with their newest addition. These sweet girls were in love with their baby sister and it was the cutest thing ever.
What I love about lifestyle newborn sessions is documenting the every day life. It’s not perfect, but it is so beautiful. It is precious.
October 27th I was able to take a trip To Sarasota Florida for the amazing opportunity to photograph newborn twins! Seriously a life goal of mine. Oh I was so excited!! We arrived late Thursday evening and got up bright and early Friday morning for the newborn session. Post session we took Elaine’s friend to the beach and the Old Salty Dog restaurant. They had a blast together!
Saturday morning we headed out to Caspersen beach in Venice, Florida searching for shark teeth. Did you find any? You bet!! Wow was that fun!
After the beach we headed back to Sarasota to clean up and head back out for an extended family session. It was fast and furious but it was fun!! We got some great legacy images.
We tried an Amish restaurant and the met friends for ice cream. We stayed out way too late but had loads of fun!
Sunday we were up and at ‘em again for church and then back out with friends for lunch, Mexican fruit, and coffee. Sounds like a weird combo but it wasn’t all at once. Haha!!
I came for work and I worked. But I also was able to see old friends I haven’t seen in way too many years and met some new ones that I just fell in love with. I totally didn’t get enough pics and I only brought out my big camera for the work related things. But hey, that’s ok. We had a blast and missed Emma so much. She wanted to stay back home with her Nannie and Pop Pop.
