Adrianna and Ben. The dream team. They are so fun to be around! You can’t help but have a good time.

This wedding day in Minden, Louisiana was such a special one. If you follow my work, you know I don’t really do weddings often. It’s not my specialty but for my close friends and family, I make exceptions. I have known Adrianna since we were little. We have photos of us going on vacationt together when she was, I think 2. Can’t remember exactly. But we were little! We were getting burried in the sand on the beaches in Florida. Then we took a trip to Tennessee when we were a little older and you’ll never guess who was part of that vacation- Ben and his family! Back then we never would have dreamed we’d be here today celebrating their wedding- but here we are! It’s crazy how life does that to us, isn’t it? We took several other vacations to FLorida together growing and made so many memories. Now Adrianna is moving off to Florida, so there’s a new excuse to go visit!

We started this day bright and early. It was a gorgeous day too! The sun was shinning and the temperature was just right. We woudln’t have asked for better weather! I know it made Adrainna’s day to have such a perfect day on HER perfect day.

We got started with the detail shots while the bridesmaids were getting ready. These details were just so lovely! And her ring! It’s so unique and stunning. I just loved it! Detail shots are something that’s really fun for me and I’ve learned so much from other amazingly talented photographers in this industry. One in particular being Katelyn James. If are a photographer, go check her out! She’s an incredible photographer and instructor!

Ok, back to Adrianna and Ben..

The wedding took place at her Grandfather’s (Papa, as she calls him) church in Minden Louisiana. I know this was so special for him. His first grandbaby getting married in his church. We know his wife, our dear Sister Karen, was looking down smiling on this special day. You’ll see in the detail shots how Adrianna honored her grandparents that have gone on before. It was so so special!

I could talk for ever about this wedding, but you know as they say, a picture is worth a thousand words. So let’s get to the pictures!!

Meet the Wollmann family!!

These are some of the sweetest people you will ever meet. Not only are they sweet, but they are so fun to be around! They light up a rom wtih joy and laughter. And not only that, either- they are stunning! As I was photographing them here on our land in North Louisiana, I kept noticing how incredible each of their eyes were. All of them have the most goreous blue eyes.

We met them while in Arizona for my sis in law’s wedding. Little Lukas was only 7 months old and our Emma was only 6 months old. It was so fun to see them again and see how much our babies have grown! We had a picture of them two of them together at 7 and 6 months so while they were visiting Louisiana we had to get an updated one! They are both 3 years old now!

They just recently moved from Washington all the way to Florida! What a trip and what a climate change! Now that they are a little closer we are expecting more visits in the future. haha!

Speaking of visiting, while they were here for Adrianna and Ben’s wedding (you have to see this!!) we carved out about 30 mintues for family photos. Not exactly sure what all we would be able to get in that time, I set out to work fast and get as much in as we could. I would say it was sucessful!! The littles ones cooperated amazingly and hey, the older ones did too. Of course, it’s easy when you have such a photogenic family!!

Everything went so smoothly and I’m so glad it all worked out so well. Thanks again, y’all!! It was a great time!

In North Louisiana we get all four seasons. It’s hard to know which one is the best to have your family portraits in. As a North Louisiana photographer specializing in families, I think it’s safe to say I’ve seen each season photographed.

Here’s the deal, any season is a great season to be photographed in. It totally depends on which season YOU prefer. Each family is different and has different preferences. Some love the Spring and the lovely florals. Some love the warm summer days and the beautiful sunlight. Others love Fall and the gorgeous colors, not to mention the golden sun! Some love the cold Winter.

In North Louisiana, we don’t get the most amazing fall color, but we do get some! Spring has no shortage of flowers and summer has not shortage of heat!! Phew!

Let’s take a look at each and see what we decide!

Have you reached your decision yet? Ha! Me either!! There are good points to each season and I can’t say any of them are a bad choice!

So what does this mean? There’s no excuse to NOT book your family photos right now!! Don’t waste a second on getting those precious memories documented!

Oh Adrianna. So many memories I have with her. She has been a part of my life since we were littlle. Sleep over, dress up parties, vacationing together, the list goes on. She’s sweet and spunky. She’s full of life. You can’t help but smile when you are around her. She lights up a room when she walks in and you can never not be happy when she’s around. If you can’t tell, she is so loved by so many!

Earlier in the year she started dating Ben, all the way from Florida. We’ve all known him and his family for years and years and never thought to make this connection, but God knew and here we are today. This is such a special time and we are so beyond happy for them.

Everything came together so beautifully for Adrainna’s special day. Each one worked so hard to pull of such an amazing and lovely shower. What made it all the more special was that it was at her Muvvy and Papa’s house in Homer, Louisiana. If you have followed along with everything in our life, you know that we recenlty lost our pastor’s wife. This was Adrianna’s Muvvy. She was such a beacon of light and loved hosting. To have this shower there was such a special thing. It couldn’t have been at a better location.

Adrianna and Ben will be living in FLorida after the wedding. She will be so greatly missed by all, but we are happy for each one there that will get to enjoy what we have enjoyed for all these years. You better come back home often, ok? Ok.

Alright, I’ll have to stop chatting for now. I know you’re here for these lovely images of this gorgeous shower celebrating such a special girl that we all love so very much. So here they are…

Nothing says Summer in North Louisiana like warm sunlight and these yellow flowers. We always have so many around our land in the Summer and early Fall, too! It was a lovely, for the most part, Summer evening in North Louisiana so I grabbed our girls and some plants from our garden (if you haven’t see a little glimpse into that, click here) and started snapping pictures.

There’s no challenge as good as a photographer trying to photograph their own kids. HA! I have all the patience in the world when I’m photographing other kids, but my own are a different story. It’s funny how that works, right?! They love to test me! Am I the only one?!?! Tell me I’m not!!

I still love these two stinkers so much and everytime I photograph them, those photos are my new favorite photos. If you look closely on my website, you’ll probably see them intermixed. I just can’t help it! They are too cute! Not biased or anything. Hehe

While fresh cut grass isn’t always the best and most photogenic option, our grass was just cut, so it made do. Not to mention we were down to only minutes of light left in the day so we didn’t have time to fuss about all the details if I was going to grab a few pictures. I have to say, some of these may be my all time favorite! But I’m sure next time I’ll say the same thing.
