It’s not every day that we southern folks get snow. In fact, it seems that it’s only once every four years that we get a “good” snow. I say that in quotations because I am very aware that this is not considered a good snow for northerners. But for us, this is the best thing in the world! HA!
When we saw snow on the forecast we were certainly skeptical. We had a snow day predicted in Decemeber but as the day got closer the temp warmed and warmed. There was certainly no threat of snow! The closer this day approached, however, it seemed more and more promising.
My parents watched our girls Sunday evening while we were at a prayer meeting at church. We knew the snow was going to be starting soon so we hurried to get to my parents’ home so that we could pick up the girls and get home before the snow started. It started snowing while we were there so we decided to get on home beofre it got worse. After about 5 minutes of driving the snow stopped. Talk about disappointment. It did not snow the entire way home! It wasn’t until we were home for close to an hour that it finally started to snow!
We bundled up and went outstide to enjoy what little we were getting as we had no idea how much we would really get. We went to bed with it still snowing and woke up to a winter wonderland! It was wonderful!
Knowing that the temperature was going to increase throughout the morning, I woke everyone up early to enjoy the snow before it melted. We had breakfast and went outside!!
Elaine said several times how much she loved the snow and that she wished this happened every day! To say the least, these southerners ha a blast!
